Download CPU-Z for PC

CPU-Z is a free, downloadable utility for Windows based systems. This is a featureful tool that provides information about the underlying architecture. This tool can provide information to a windows user other than the one available in system information tool of Windows. It can give information about the processor, cache, clocks, and settings of the hardware installed on the chipset. This tool is used to overcome the Windows system limitation of sharing information about the underlying chipset, processor and hardware. Using BIOS is cumbersome and is not useful for real-time status and state of the hardware.
CPU-Z provides information about the processor, cache, chipset, and the instruction set of the hardware of a windows system.

What is CPU-Z’s features?

Wide variety of Information: The information includes a wide variety including CPU, cache, and clocks. The information includes the hardware configuration as well.
CPU info: Among the information about CPU, processor name, generation, vendor, core stepping and process, processor package is shared with the user. It also provides core voltage of the CPU.
Clock info: The information about internal and external clocks, clock rate, clock multiplier, partial overclock detection, overlooking status are shared with the user. A user can know the clock information of both clocks and use this to optimize over clocking. Overclocking is used to increase the performance of a CPU although it leads to high heat dissipation.
Process info: The process information includes the supported instruction set for the underlying hardware. Instruction set is the set of machine code that runs on the hardware.
Cache info: The information about state of caches including L2 cache is shared with the user. It also supports memory timing including CAS latency, RAS to CAS and RAS precharge information. It can give information including the state of the cache and its utilization details. This information is generally available to the processor for smooth context switching and faster response.
Multi Processor Support: CPU-Z supports up to two processors for Windows NT and Windows 2000 only. It lacks support for multicore systems for now.
Hardware Support: The product supports AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X, 3970X, 3990X and TRX40 chipsets. In Intel it supports all Intel Core 10xxx Comet Lake processors. Lately Centaur new CPU with AI coprocessor is also supported.

What is CPU-Z’s limitations?

The main limitation is that this product is Windows Based and cannot be used via other popular operating systems like Mac, Linux, Ubuntu, etc. The product does not share information or status about other peripheral hardware that may be attached with the system. Furthermore, it does not give information about RAM, memory, HDD, SSD , video graphics accelerator or video memory.
